The one with the Patriotic Window...

Happy Independence Day, Everybody!

It is hot, hazy and humid here today: Just the kind of day we New Englanders dream about during the long cold months of winter.  DH is working, DD#1 is marching in a parade, and DD #2 is hanging out with friends, so I have the house to myself.  I have been holed up in my craft room, (it's air-conditioned, unlike the rest of the house!).  This morning, I  put the finishing touches on my Summer themed reclaimed window.  I have been noodling around with files for a couple of weeks, and finally, I found time to cut, assemble, and install everything:

Here is the whole thing:

(oops, I should have straightened that photo before taking this pic!)

Following are some close-ups of the handmade elements:

I made this file, using an online image trace.

I couldn't resist using the positive image left from the cut above, so I picked it up off my mat with a piece of contact paper and made a frame for it.

I received this lovely card from Diann, as part of the ArtHaven June Swaps.  Aren't the colors in this gorgeous image perfect?  Beachy and RWB!  LOVE!

I used some vintage patriotic graphics, and photos of my family to complete the project.  I think I will leave this the way it is through labor day.  I would like to make a banner for it, but I'm not sure of the scale yet.  I could go big, across the top of the frame, or make a little one for one of the individual panes.  If I come up with something great, I'll be sure to post it.

Enjoy your Holiday, everyone!
