.... (well, not paint, but wonderful Wendy Vecchi Crackle medium) I decided I would make better use of my time, and pop off a quick post with my week nine entry in the 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style Challenge. (If you click the link, you will find all of the details, and in the sidebar on the right, there are links to each week's inspiration.)
Here are my two projects, which fit in spaces in the two printer's trays I am altering. I was inspired by the color palette of Linda's inspiration tag, and the pop of white she achieved with her snowflake element. I used Wendy Vecchi gold embossing paste to stencil a single word on each tag, as an homage to the embossed text background in the inspiration tag, which you can see below, or in greater detail on the Funkie Junkie blog.
My second piece features a glittered snowflake. To make the flake, I cut several layers of white cardstock snowflakes with my Silver Bullet Cutter, and glued them all together to give some dimension. I added a layer of liquid glue and glass glitter, and then some more glue and a sprinkling of holographic glitter. It is super sparkly in real life! Rather than the stamped Perfect Pearls border, I made a much more smudgy border on this one, and again added an edging of Tarnished Brass Distress Stain.
I was trying to capture a bit of the shimmer and sparkle with these photos. That didn't work out so well!
And here are the printer's trays with week nine completed. I have works in progress for a few of the spaces, including the week 10 challenge pieces that I am hoping to finish tonight, if the "paint" dries.
Thanks for stopping by to check my progress. Please also hop on over to The Funkie Junkie Boutique. As if it isn't enough of a gift to give us 12 weeks of inspiring tags to recreate, prizes will be awarded to some lucky winners, as well a discount to everyone who complete all 12 challenges. It is getting late, but if you can find a chunk of time, you can still catch up!
Have a wonderful week!
Elizabeth

ReplyDeleteYour daughters are going to love their gifts! This is really quite the loveliest gift from the heart! Great take on Linda's tag this week, stealing a word from her stenciled background! Great idea! Isn't this so much fun???! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Elizabeth! These have a lovely patina for the background. Your embossing paste words are beautiful as ar the colors you used. Another terrific addition to your printer's trays!
