The one with the engraving....

Happy Saturday Morning, Friends!

Hope you all are having a terrific start to the weekend!  Today I am sharing another project from last weekend.  This one is my new favorite.  I used a file designed by Lisa Howell at Mind Over Matter Creations.  You just have to pop over to her blog to see her beautiful creations.  She is one very talented lady!

I used my Black Cat Cougar cutter, purchased from Sherri at That's Scrap, Inc. and the engraving tool to engrave a piece of aluminium that I purchased from Tyler at All That Jazz Supplies.  I purchased the engraving tool when I purchased my 1st Cougar, almost two years ago, and I never used it until now.  I don't know what I was waiting for.  It is really fun, and I just love the results.  So before I go on and on, I'll show you a picture:

The first thing I did was use some alcohol inks to color the aluminium sheet.  Then I used SCAL software and my Cougar to engrave the design.  If you have never done this before, you might be surprised at how long it takes.  I was!  I had lots of time to tidy up my craft room while I waited for it to finish.  When it was done, I added a distressed paper frame and some paper flowers from Penny Duncan Creations.  I used copy paper for these ones, instead of my usual cardstock, and I found it easier to form them.

I added a few brads and leaves, and mounted it in a recently purchased an antique box that hangs on the wall in my entryway.  I am really happy with how my new artwork looks in it.  Here is a view of the whole thing:

I sure hope you all are having a terrific weekend!
