Faux Postage Swap

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are having a terrific weekend.  It is hazy, hot, and humid here.

Recently, Retta on the Black Cat US Forum hosted a Faux Postage Swap.  Here is what I came up with.
(Retta and Jan should stop reading now if they want to be surprised!)

I used my foiler and gold foil on white copy paper for the central image of each set.  I then inked the whole page in bands of Distress Inks.

I cut the stamp shapes out using my Black Cat Cougar cutter.  I was having a bit of a problem getting clean cuts with this file.  Surprisingly, I found that speeding up the velocity rather than slowing it down was the secret to a good cut.  I cut these at 400, which is about double my usual speed!

After cutting the stamps out, I added a bit of black ink.  For the top set, I used a Tim Holtz stamp that is rather bold, and for the bottom set, I used a more subtle all over stamp.

I used Yes paste to adhere the stamps to the background, which is perforated, so they can be separated by the recipient and added to projects.  I was really wishing for a sticker machine by the end of this project!  (I HATE sticky hands!)

This was a fun project, and a great idea for a swap!  I put them in the mail this morning.  I hope Jan and Retta enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Happy Weekend,

Elizabeth

    1. Thanks, Penny! I totally forgot to mention that I used your Postage Stamp Shaplie file. I use your files all the time! Your 4 disks by far my most used SVG purchase.
