Scrappy New Year!

(In regards to the title of my post, I DO NOT resolve not to be corny this year, sorry!)

I wish health and happiness to all in this new year.  I made no official resolutions, but I do plan to focus on using up scraps and supplies this year, after spending most of 2011 outfitting and supplying my new craft room.  I had a little vacation between Christmas and New Years Day and I spent a bit of time in my craft room getting started on this plan.

I keep two drawers of my paper storage rack for scraps, one for solids and one for prints.  I use the top two drawers in hopes that I will always look at my scraps before digging into the new paper.  For any scraps that are large enough, I precut A2 sized card blanks, which I store in a third drawer. I also toss any unused die cuts, print and cuts and digistamps in a box.  So I will have plenty of  materials to work with.

Here are a the projects I made using only scraps and leftovers:

I had a pile of little leftover pieces of the watercolor paper I like to use  with my Bind it All to make journals.  I used them all up making these 3 mini journals!  I tied two of them with ribbon, rather than cutting up new lenghts of O wire.

I could really use a "corner chomper" for the corners of the first little journal.  I will be embellishing it a bit before gifting it.  For the cover of the  middle journal I used a photo overlaid with an acetate print, both leftover from an ATC card set I made in June.  The journal on the left was made using some embossed card stock that DD's friend made while playing with my Sizzix Big Kick on New Year's Eve.  The little blue foil scrap is a leftover from a Black Cat USA crop challenge.

Here are some tags that I made, using a variety of scraps, stamps, digis and print and cuts that were leftover from last year's Christmas cards and projects.  Look closely, and you will see that I used the tree file  that I shared in my last post for some of these tags.
(I even used a scrap of ribbon, rather than cutting a new piece.)

I made four of these note cards with more left over photos.

For this Birthday card, I used a bunch of dots I had saved from a bag topper project.  The border around the metal frame was a left over as well.

For this card, I used leftovers from a sympathy card I needed to make last week.  The tree is from a Lettering Delights Doodlebat.  The large leaf came from the same tree file, and was embossed and inked.

Thanks for taking time to look at my scrappy leftover projects.
