Celtic Ornament and 2 free SVGs

Hi All!

Yesterday I completed a projecct from the Black Cat USA Forum Christmas in July Crop.  I was really busy in July, so I am catching up on some of the challenges now.  Maxine from http://maxinesmadness.blogspot.com/ challenged us to create an etched project with a Celtic theme, to be used as a gift.  Thanks for a really fun challenge, Maxine!

I used my 15" Black Cat Cougar to cut vinyl to use as a mask on an octagon shaped mirror ornament from Michael's.  I used my air eraser to etch a celtic knot design.  After etching the ornament, I placed a layered vinyl holly motif on the ornament.  I liked the results, so I made two more, while I still had my air eraser hooked up.

After checking the prices on etching creme at the hobby stores, I decided that it would be just as cost effective in the long run to purchase an air eraser, as my husband already owned an air compressor.  I have used it a few times, and I am pleased with it so far.  The only thing I would wish for is a larger reservior for the etching powder.  I had to refill twice just to do these 3 small items!  I'm pretty sure I will get irritated with that when working on larger projects.

Here are some photos of the results:

I will be giving these ornaments to my friend Holly,  She is of Irish heritage, and loves holly, for obvious reasons.  I really enjoyed making these, and hope to make more soon.

You can download the two SVGs that I created to make my ornaments here.   https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=944986b55d6ee71f&resid=944986B55D6EE71F!130

Wishing you a wonderful day!
